  1. Congratulations to Mr. Scott Berrier, 5th Grade ELA teacher.  He was named the Greenfield-Central Community School Corporation teacher of the year as selected by ELANCO.  He does amazing things for our kids each day and is very worthy of this recognition.
  1.  Lunch Visitors:  The cafeteria staff is no longer permitted to make change.  If you plan to eat with your child, please know to bring $3.25 or be prepared for your “change” to be placed in your child’s account.
  1.  Picture Day: Picture Day will be held on August 16th.  Each student will have his/her picture taken on this day to be included in the yearbook whether you plan to purchase a picture package or not.  You should have received a packet regarding this earlier in the week.    If you would prefer to order online, please visit and use the picture  ID code: HM787027Y0.
  1.  Spell Bowl:  Does your child enjoy spelling challenging words?  Do they enjoy competing?  If so, they may want to become a member of the 2017 MIS Spell Bowl Team!  Spell Bowl is a competition where students are challenged to spell words in a written format.  MIS is looking for students to form a 4thgrade team and a combined 5th/6thgrade team.  Please contact Mrs. Tilley ( for more information!
  1. We have tried to provide multiple forums for you to obtain information regarding what’s happening at MIS.

–  The team pages on our website ( will likely be of great interest to you this year.  Teachers will be posting to their respective pages weekly.  These updates occur on Friday afternoon or Monday morning depending on the grade level.

– Mrs. Greulich and MIS are on twitter @MIS_AsstPrin

– You will receive the “MIS News” Email weekly with news, information, and upcoming important dates.  If you talk to someone who is not receiving this weekly

email , please have them contact our office (326-3121).

–  MIS Event Calendar: This will be update throughout the year.

  1.  School Dismissal Manager( –  MIS will again be using a web based service called School Dismissal Manager. The purpose is to enable you to easily and securely inform the office regarding your wishes for your child at dismissal time. The system will provide a more organized and efficient tracking system for end of day dismissals. It is intended to replace the notes and phone calls to the office that let us know of changes to your plans for your child(ren)’s dismissal. School Dismissal Manager is the place for you to inform MIS of the means of transportation intended for your son or daughter each day.

You will receive a welcome email providing you with your username and password to access this secure system.  We are hopeful that you find this to be a more convenient process.  ANY transportation changes from normal procedure must be done prior to 1:00pm through the system.  We understand that things happen after this time.  Therefore, if you need to make a change after 1:00pm, you will need to contact the office as you have in the past.
