Team Indiana Volleyball

On October 2 at 7:00 Team Indiana Volleyball will be in the Cougar Meeting Room at the High School for an information night.
If anyone is interested in learning about Team Indiana this would be a great opportunity to come and ask questions. There is
no obligation. This is strictly an opportunity to learn more about Team Indiana Volleyball Club.

MIS News 6/13/2013

2013-2014 School Year Registration — Again this year, registration can be done online from any computer with internet access (available 24 hours with this method) or by coming into the building during the times specified below.  As soon as we have dates for the opening of online access, we will let you know via email.  After registering, you will have the ability to print your child’s schedule which will also contain his/her locker number and combination.  You are welcome to come in during any of the times listed in the upcoming dates below to practice opening the locker or see the building.  During the specified open house nights, teachers will be available by grade levels on the night listed for each grade.

July 24th – Registration (12-7pm)/5th Grade Open House (6:30-7:30)

-July 25th – Registration (12-7pm)/ 6th Grade Open House (6:30-7:30)

-July 29th – 4th Grade Open House (6:30-7:30pm)

-July 31st – 1st Day of School

ISTEP Update – due to the issues experienced during the last portion of ISTEP, the Department of Education is currently working on a Multiple-Choice validity analysis.  We have not been given a specific date for the release of these scores; however, it sounds like they are shooting for mid-July.  As soon as we are made aware, we will be in contact through electronic means to keep you updated.

Electronic report cards went live on May 31.

End of Year Thanks — Thanks to the many parents who attended awards programs.  Also, huge thanks to those 6th grade parents who assisted with “survivor day”.  I know the students enjoyed themselves greatly.

ISTEP NEWS – Please remember that due to ISTEP testing issues we will be finishing the test next week.  The schedule is as follows by homeroom:

-6th Grade — All Classes — Monday (Science)

-5th Grade — Mrs. Ashley, Mr. Cooper, and Mrs. McClarnon — Monday (Social Studies)

-5th Grade — Mr. Ellars, Miss Greulich, and Mrs. Knecht-Strong — Tuesday (Social Studies)

-4th Grade — Mrs. Dannelley, Mrs. Leliaert, Mrs. Schrank and Mrs. Slaughter — Tuesday (Science)

-4th Grade — Mrs. Deom, Mrs. Heller and Mrs. Ortwein — Wednesday (Science)

Again, we want to thank everyone as we worked through this issue that was placed upon us.  We greatly appreciate the manner in which the students pushed through.

3rd Grade Parent Night at MIS – If you may have a neighbor, friend or family member who falls into this category, please let them know that this event will occur on Monday, May 13th at 6:30pm.

MIS Variety Show – Postponed – new date to be confirmed soon.

Lunch Charges –  Effective Monday, May 6th, nobody will be able to charge their lunch.  If the need exists, please be sure to send lunch money Monday or place money electronically into your child’s account.  If you have questions, please contact the cafeteria.

GCHS In-School Physical Night will be Wednesday, May 8th from 6:00  – 8:30p.m. for any incoming GCSC student Grades K-12. 

-Cost is $25.00.  This year no advanced registration will be required. 

-Incoming K-8 – Please download the physical form on the websites of your child’s school and bring the night of physicals.

-Incoming 9 -12 – Please download all starred items on the high school website, complete in ink, and bring with you the night of physicals.  All starred paperwork, not just a physical, is required of high school students to condition/tryout for a high school team.

MIS News 4/9/13

Dr. Hilton — As some of you may know, Dr. Hilton had been serving as assistant principal at MIS in addition to her duties as Human Resources Director which she had held prior to the opening of our building.  Prior to break, we learned that Dr. Hilton would be moving back to the central office full time.  We are very excited to announce that Mr. Jeff Sincroft, teacher from GCJHS, will be filling the spot she left open through the end of the year.

Grandparent’s Luncheon –We are in need of volunteers to help with lunch times as well as book fair.  If you are interested, please contact the office at 326-3121.
